NORTHWIND GRID / DAY 27 / STEADY PHASE

Day 27 of 100

A Calm Day Produces Two Requests for More Information

What happened today

Calm day nothing went wrong

Day 27 began quietly at Northwind Grid, with the security posture up one point to 32. HR raised security awareness training during working hours. The proposal appeared to register as an annoyance, and the fly paused to clean its eyes (DNg12_b). The resulting ruling was a demand for more information.

OT and Grid Operations then submitted a tightly bounded request covering affected assets, reviewers, evidence, approvals and no production changes. This, too, seems to have felt like friction. The fly stopped for eye-cleaning again, with an additional grooming response active (DNg11, DNg12_b), and again demanded more information.

OT pushed back that a calm day was not itself a review plan, while HR and Finance agreed to negotiate once they receive schedules, costs, coverage and other practical details. Several discussions were declined or moved, and Grid Operations has requested a dated decision deadline for day 30.

The business responds

  • When the fly wanted more information on “OT / Grid Operations asks: Today: affected assets, named reviewers, evidence sources, no production changes, and Grid Operations approval before any action or escalation.”, OT / Grid Operations dug in its heels. They cooled on the fly a little.

“A calm day is not a review plan. Please name the missing evidence, reviewers, deadline, and confirm no production changes without Grid Operations approval.”

OT / Grid Operations Pushed back trust -2

Next, they want: “Identify the specific missing information and provide a dated decision deadline.” They have already asked for a slot in the fly's diary.

  • When the fly wanted more information on “Security awareness training during working hours”, Finance agreed in principle, then started haggling over every detail. They warmed to the fly, very slightly.

“Fine, we can schedule it during working hours, once you provide duration, attendee count, productivity impact, and the cost of the proposed training.”

    Finance Negotiated trust +1

Next, they want: “Send the training duration, audience, vendor or internal delivery cost, productivity estimate, owner, and approval date.” They have already asked for a slot in the fly's diary.

  • When the fly wanted more information on “Security awareness training during working hours”, HR agreed in principle, then started haggling over every detail. They warmed to the fly, very slightly.

“I support training during working hours, provided HR receives the employee message, schedule, coverage plan, and a non-punitive make-up route before anyone is summoned to a meeting about clicking.”

    HR Negotiated trust +1

Next, they want: “Please send the proposed employee message, implementation timeline, coverage arrangements, and support plan for staff who cannot attend.” Expect an email.
